BSc (PT), MSc, PWR! Certified Trainer

Lise Magnan

Lise is a Physiotherapist registered in BC with Physiotherapy work experience in Ontario, Quebec, New Zealand and British Columbia.  She holds a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation Science from McGill University.

Her interest in neurology brought her to Vancouver’s Holy Family Hospital Rehabilitation Unit where she has worked with neurologically impaired clients in both the in- and out-patient settings.  Neurological training includes The Bobath Concept Basic and Advanced courses, Motor Learning and Balance & Dizziness.

Over the past 6 years, Lise has developed a passion for working with persons with Parkinson’s Disease and has received training with Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery, Allied Team Training for Parkinson’s and NeuroFit BCs Fundamentals of Functional Movement.  She has participated as a volunteer in the RISE Parkinson’s Retreat run by NeuroFit BC . Lise was the co-recipient of Vancouver Coastal Health’s Catalyst for Innovative Practice Award at the Step Up event for her work developing the Parkinson’s Program at Holy Family Hospital.  Feeling the need to expand Parkinson’s exercise to the community, she proposed and implemented a Parkinson’s Exercise Class for the City of Burnaby’s Bonsor Community Centre.

The education of Physiotherapy students is another of Lise’s interests:  she supervises students in the clinical setting and assists with Physiotherapy courses at UBC.

During her leisure time, Lise enjoys hiking, biking, skate skiing and swimming, as well as exploring the great outdoors of BC with her family.
