BSc. (Kin), MPT, Certified PWR! Therapist
Laura completed both her Master’s of Physical Therapy as well as her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). She has always had a passion for exercise and the human brain and while earning her undergraduate degree worked as a Research Assistant at the Aging, Mobility and Cognitive Neuroscience lab at UBC. It is here that she became interested in neuroplasticity, in particular how exercise and movement retraining could help improve physical and cognitive function. Laura went on to explore a career in neuro-rehabilitation as a physiotherapist and in her practice she is a strong believer in client-centered care and optimizing everyones individual potential.
Laura is a certified Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery (PWR!) therapist, and is working towards completing her Basic Bobath Training. Her treatment approach combines patient education, exercise prescription and hands on techniques to help patients improve their function and reach their goals.
Laura is an active member of the physiotherapy community. She has been on the board of directors for the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC) and is involved in initiatives to promote and improve the profession.
Outside the clinic Laura is an avid mountain biker and is always up for an outdoor adventure.
